At WCSFC we embrace members of all ages because we understand that optimal health and fitness begins – well, at life’s beginning. Our programs are designed to help our infants, children and young people integrate health and fitness within his/her developing lifestyles, leading to the most important benefit of all – formation of a positive attitude about life in general.
For these reasons, we provide the following year-round programs, instruction and holiday events not only for our young at hearts – but also for our hearty youth between 7 to 15 years.
GRAVITYouth GRAVITYouth is designed to help our young members become active while learning various ways to exercise, have fun, and learn about his/her muscle groups. GRAVITYouth sessions feature two exciting age-specific 30-minute workouts of up to 8 participants and are a creative, safe and effective means of fitness training for all ages, sizes and levels of ability.
Secret Circuit is a program that we are introducing for those ages 7 to 11. The certified instructors use a set of innovative playing cards (Wild Cards are included to add more fun and adventure) so that our young fitness participants interact within a circuit of up to 12 exercises.
Gravity Sports Circuit is a program that consists of up to 17 carefully designed fitness exercises. With our certified instructors using motivational challenges, participating youth can log his/her personal steps toward increasing stamina and strength endurance. Additionally, partnering challenges are used to create a more highly interactive social environment.
Youth Boot Camps WCSFC’s Youth Boot Camps are a high energy, age-specific, and challenging way to engage those young participants in the motivating and supportive environment of physical fitness. During these sessions, certified instructors guide participants to perform a creatively tailored program of athletic drills, calisthenics, strength and cardio. The benefits are many and include: improved coordination, balance, agility, strength, and athletic performance while experiencing the enhanced sense of confidence, discipline, and social skills.
Four Steps to Youth Fitness This is a program where our Personal Trainers and Fitness Instructors meet with young members and their parents for 4 sessions to design his/her “dream” fitness program – one that is specific to his/her passions, age, size, and level of abilities. This is our “jump start” program – showing that because we believe our youth are our future, we are highly committed to guide them onto the path of living an active, healthy, and happy life.
Hip To Be Fit Hip 2 B Fit is a program designed to engage our young participants in the world of fitness in a highly active and educational way and within a comfortable and safe environment. During the first 30 minutes of this unique workout, they actively engage in learning the proper and fun way to weight train, specific to his/her age while teaching how it benefits them in their everyday activities. The second 30 minutes of each session engages them in a variety of cardiovascular training activities so that they make this a lifelong habit. The final 30-minute challenge engages the participants in a fun and physically challenging sports-specific activity to make use of his/her strong muscles, hearts and lungs.
Teen Sports Conditioning Our certified trainers and instructors creatively design sports-specific programs for girls and boys competing in any sports, i.e., baseball, football, soccer, basketball, volleyball to name a few. We work one-on-one and with entire teams to enhance athletic performance, and our sports conditioning "camps" are designed so that the focus is placed on proper movement patterns, injury prevention, and joint stability. Like all other programs the benefits are many and include: enhanced agility, speed, power with drills conducted in a safe and efficient manner.
Baseball Camps Our baseball camps are highly successful and provide challenging and cutting edge techniques designed to help young participants with the following: improve his/her overall fitness for the upcoming season; set realistic and specific goals; improve lateral quickness and agility; develop fundamental weight lifting techniques to develop strength which benefits injury prevention; learn ways to increase & sustain joint stability to prevent injuries & enhance performance; develop baseball-specific techniques; develop proper nutrition specific to sports to enhance strength, endurance and performance, and more.
Pilates for Teens Because Pilates places its focus on core (trunk) stability, strength, and flexibility, participants between 7-15 years learn fun and challenging ways to engage their abdominal and back muscles while simultaneously learning various ways to engage proper breathing with correct posture. Our Certified Pilates Instructors teach each young participant how to focus on and perform each movement rather than mindlessly engage in doing one repetition after another. This profound form of training helps young people become more aware of their body and how it is most effectively designed to move.
Nia for Pre-Adolescents & Teens Nia is a low impact barefoot workout that integrates dance, martial arts, and healing arts, which includes Yoga techniques. The major focus of Nia is to empower young people to make conscious choices throughout their workouts. For example, depending upon their needs and desires, they learn how to adjust the intensity and style of their movements; by moving from the inside out, they are more able to develop a healthy sense of confidence and feel more fully alive on all levels: mentally, emotionally, physically and spiritually.
