SWIM LESSON INFORMATION SUMMER 2010

Mommy & Me (10 months - 3 years) Parent/toddler basic water orientation class. Both parent and toddler participate in this 25-minute class. Skills include water adjustment for parents and toddlers, holding techniques, entry and exit from the pool edge, games and songs. Floating, arm and leg movement, and breath control may also be included for older toddlers. All this makes for a positive experience for the child.
SEA TURTLES Beginner (Ages 3y-7y): Fundamental swim-skill building class. Students must be comfortable with floating on front and back with support and submerge head for at least 5-10 seconds. Class objective: float without support and recover to a vertical position. Continue to work on kicking, arm strokes, and independence in shallow water.
DOLPHINS Intermediate (Ages 4y-11y): The object of this level is to build on skills by providing drills and stroke development. Students must be able to swim for an entire lap (20 meters) at a time and float independently. In this class they will be instructed on rotary side breathing, stroke improvement, swimming underwater, swimming elementary backstroke and treading water using sculling arm motions and kicking.
Adult Swim Lessons: LEVEL I - Introduction to Swimming This level is for adults new to swimming. The instructor will help the participant feel comfortable in the water and start introducing the basic strokes.
LEVEL II - Adult Swim lessons This level works with each client on their strokes by getting in the water with them and giving demonstrations of streamline techniques and the proper way each stroke should be performed.
LEVEL III - Advanced Skills This level is for triathletes or the advanced swimmer looking to improve their endurance in the water. The instructor will help streamline the client's swimming technique, to help optimize their performance in the water.
Sign up at the Front Desk in the Swim Lesson Log Book. There are no refunds. Make-up classes will be offered for missed classes; see instructor to reschedule. Private lessons are available year round upon request.
Sign up is limited; see Activity Binder and pay at the Front Desk prior to attending any swim lesson. Non members are welcome.
Children under the age of 14 are not permitted in the locker rooms. Please use the bathroom facilities adjacent to the clear glass racquetball court for changing swimsuit.
